Lokum is a community founded in October 2024 in Brussels with a simple idea: to create a warm and open space where people can come together, share stories, and feel at home, no matter where they come from.
Inspired by the spirit of Turkish hospitality, Lokum brings people together through cultural, social, and intellectual events. Our aim is not only to celebrate Turkish culture, but also to build bridges between cultures, encourage dialogue, and create meaningful connections across Belgium’s diverse society.
At the heart of Lokum are our regular Çay Akşamı evenings, moderated discussion gatherings where participants talk about everything from everyday life and personal experiences to philosophy, culture, and current issues, all over a cup of tea.
Alongside these, we organize special events such as cultural nights, interactive game evenings, and collaborative activities with other communities and associations.
